Chancellor Peak Mountains –
one of the most beautiful spots in the Rocky Mountains!
Chancellor Peak mountains are located in Yoho National Park of Canada. The Chancellor Peak Mountains tower over the Kicking Horse Valley where the mighty Kicking Horse River runs through. At an elevation of 3266 meters (10,715 feet), the mountains can be seen from anywhere in the valley and to the east from Chancellor Peak Chalets.
The Chancellor Peak Mountains are best seen when entering Yoho National Park from the west, at the big bend in the highway.
The closet city to Chancellor Peak is the city of Golden, British Columbia, which is located approximately 30 kilometers (20 miles) to the west of Chancellor Peak Chalets.
Running through the whole area is the Kicking Horse River which begins at Wapta Lake and flows southwest. It receives the Yoho River upstream from Field, B.C. and the river continues to flow southwest until after it drops over the Wapta Falls. It then takes a hair-pin turn and flows northwest into the Columbia River in Golden.
